Advantage One Federal Credit Union is proud to celebrate over 55 years of service to our members. On January 24, 1952 the credit union's charter was approved as the McLouth Employees Federal Credit Union, serving employees of McLouth Steel Corporation.
The credit union's name was changed to Southgate Community Federal Credit Union in 1982 and the field of membership was expanded to serve the families living or working in Southgate. In 1991, Riverview was added to the field of membership, the name was changed to Southgate Federal Credit Union, and the Riverview office was opened in 1993.
In 2001, the field of membership was again expanded to include 15 Downriver communites. To better reflect the new, broader field of membership, the name was changed to Advantage One Federal Credit Union.
In 2007, we expanded our field of membership once again. We are please to be able to now service Taylor, Huron Township and Romulus.
Advantage One Federal Credit Union now serves 15,000 members with assets of $80 million dollars. We are dedicated to providing superior financial products and personalized service to our members.
